TAIPEI (TVBS News) — On Monday morning (Sept. 4), Typhoon Haikui has weakened slightly, with the typhoon center located south-southwest of Penghu.
Its storm circle currently covers regions to the south of Changhua and Penghu.
Central Weather Bureau (CWB) weather anchor Hsieh Pei-yun reported that the typhoon's intensity was diminishing as it passed the southern islands of Penghu.
Taitung, Hualien, and Taichung are now out of the typhoon's circle. The CWB forecasts that Haikui will continue to weaken, potentially leading to the lifting of the land warning on Monday afternoon.
Currently, areas including Nantou and regions south of Changhua remain under the warning.
Kinmen is expected to come under the influence of Haikui. If the typhoon weakens further, Kinmen may lift its land and sea warnings on Tuesday morning and afternoon, respectively.
