TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Democratic Progressive Party's (DPP) presidential candidate, Lai Ching-te, is set to hold the first press conference for the "National Project of Hope" on Wednesday (Sept. 6), marking a systematic roll-out of his national policy blueprint.
During the press conference, Lai will disclose his policy directions and introduce his national policy advisory team. The Vice President has begun extensive networking with regional legislative candidates and is preparing for more interactions with young people in the future.
Lai's "National Project of Hope" is a national development blueprint devised by the New Frontier Foundation and the Future Generations Foundation, Taiwan.
Besides building upon President Tsai Ing-wen's governance over the past seven years, Lai is set to make slight adjustments and evolve policies in response to the changing times. His policy direction for the first term of his presidency will specifically address critical issues like the economy, healthcare, and social welfare.
Recent polls indicate that Lai is sustaining a steady lead, especially following Foxconn Founder Terry Gou's announcement to join the presidential race.
Alongside multiple "National Project of Hope" press conferences planned before mid-September, Lai will continue to use his free time for visits and joint appearances with regional legislative candidates.
