TAIPEI (TVBS News) —The widespread use of AI in various industries has prompted businesses in Taiwan to explore its application in evaluating employees' performance, efficiency, and job satisfaction.
In addition to guiding employers on matters like salary increases and adjusting team roles, AI can also offer diverse ways to enhance employee engagement in their tasks.
"For example, if someone's performance is not as good as expected or may even be at risk of quitting soon, we must assess his or her future career development," the vice president of a multinational technology company's talent transformation consulting department, Lee Yi-chen said.
"That person may have the option to change jobs or accept a different role within the company."
More importantly, employers must also consider individuals whose performance indicators rank high within AI systems but are also at risk of leaving the company.
AI can assess the current market situation, gather data, and propose suitable candidates for specific positions within the company or those deserving of a raise.
Nonetheless, amid AI's convenience, concerns about personal data’s security and privacy persist.

"We first assure our employees that we will not use this information to impose punishments," Lin Hsin-han said.
As the head of the human resources department in a tech company, he explained, "If companies wish to incorporate AI into their workflow, it should not merely be a tool but an aid in the company's management strategy and in ensuring employees feel comfortable with the mode of operation."
According to the CEO of an AI-incorporated tech company, approximately 30% of the company's internal positions could be replaced by AI within five years, potentially impacting around 8,000 current employees.
However, as the use of AI gradually expands, new job opportunities, including roles involving AI system training, could also emerge.
While businesses are eager to adopt AI, the potential for errors, copyright infringement, and unauthorized data usage remains a significant issue that requires attention.
