TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A policeman and a restaurant owner in Taichung successfully started a vehicle after giving it a jump-start with a patrol car, enabling a family to return home smoothly on Sunday (Aug 27).

The family had driven themselves to a site near Motian Ridge in the Heping District of Taichung City.

During their journey, they were preparing to leave around 2 p.m. when they discovered their car would not start. After seeking help from the restaurant owner, who unfortunately had no jump-start equipment, the family had no choice but to call the Zhulin Police Station for assistance.

Upon receiving the call, Officer Hung Wen-jui of Zhulin police station promptly arrived with a toolkit to assist.

In light of this incident, the police are reminding the public intending to tour Heping District to pre-emptively check their vehicle's condition and fuel due to the scarcity of petrol stations and auto/motorbike repair shops in the area. The police also said to keep the headlights on, drive slowly in mountainous regions, and turn off the headlights after parking.
