NEW TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The 2023 Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf Summer Festival is set to light up the night with fireworks on two Sundays: Aug. 27 and Sept. 3, beginning at 8 p.m. and lasting for 15 minutes.
As the show is expected to attract large crowds of spectators, the Tamsui Precinct, New Taipei City Police Department issued a traffic control announcement on Friday (Aug. 25), cautioning limited parking available at the event venue due to the expected influx of visitors.
The precinct encouraged the public to use mass transportation, such as the MRT, light rail, or buses, to avoid traffic jams.
The theme for the fireworks display on Aug. 27 will feature smiling faces and hearts, bringing a romantic ambiance to the Qixi Festival, also known as the Double Seventh Festival or Chinese Valentine's Day.
The second show, themed "Tamsui," is scheduled for Sept. 3 and will highlight the characteristics of Tamsui, showcasing jellyfish, fish, and boat-shape fireworks.
The annual festival kicked off on July 22 and will run until Sept. 16. During this time frame, the water dance performance will also occur every half hour between 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
