Currently classified as a mild typhoon, Typhoon Saola is expected to strengthen into a moderate typhoon over the weekend.

Typhoon Damrey also formed on Friday morning. However, it is expected to head straight to Japan, with no anticipated impact on Taiwan.

The primary rainfall on Friday will result from afternoon thunderstorms. Localized heavy rain is expected in mountainous areas, especially in Greater Taipei.

Regarding temperatures, the highs will range from 33 to 35 degrees Celsius. It is crucial to stay hydrated and take sun precautions.

According to the CWB, Typhoon Saola is projected to initially move south, lingering in the waters east of the Philippines before heading north.

Starting from Saturday, significant swells could be observed along Taiwan's coasts. As Typhoon Saola approaches next week, the wave conditions will become unfavorable. It is advised to exercise caution when visiting coastal areas.

Based on predictions, Typhoon Saola will come closer to Taiwan starting next Wednesday (Aug. 30), bringing rainfall, particularly to eastern areas and the Hengchun Peninsula. Please stay updated on Typhoon Saola information.
