NANTOU (TVBS News) — Nantou County in Central Taiwan has experienced significant damage following Typhoon Khanun, particularly in Ren-ai Township.

Nantou County Magistrate Hsu Shu-hua expressed gratitude for the collaborative restoration efforts from different units, including the Armed Forces and rescue team.

Despite requesting an additional 300 military personnel, the Ministry of National Defense has only deployed 198 disaster relief soldiers since Monday (Aug. 8).

Hsu thanked the central government, county and municipal governments, and civil society organizations for their emergency response integration but appealed for the fast-track deployment of the requested military aid to aid survivors.
