TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's motorcycle market witnessed a strong performance in June, with 67,067 units sold, marking a 16.46% year-on-year increase. Although there was a slight decrease of 226 units compared to May, the overall sales remained robust. Three prominent brands dominated the market, with Sanyang (SYM) emerging as the top-selling brand for the 14th consecutive month.

According to industry data, Sanyang sold an impressive 25,126 motorcycles in June, capturing a significant market share of 37.5%. Kymco secured the second spot with 18,237 units sold, accounting for a market share of 27.2%. Yamaha followed closely in third place, selling 18,670 units and occupying a 16.2% market share. Gogoro showcased steady growth with 5,261 units sold, claiming a 7.8% market share.

 

The year's first half also displayed encouraging results, with total sales reaching 363,751 units, representing an 11.58% year-on-year increase. Sanyang continued to dominate the market, selling 139,152 motorcycles and maintaining a market share of 38.3%. Kymco secured the second position with 97,900 units sold and a market share of 26.9%. Yamaha accumulated sales of 65,016 units, capturing a market share of 17.9%.

Sanyang attributed its sustained success to the popularity of its MMBCU series, which continued to drive sales. The company announced plans to introduce a new CU series, promotional offers and discounts during the summer vacation, which could generate a new wave of sales.
