TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Chen Chih-han, a well-known Taiwanese internet celebrity, along with former New Power Party chairman and legislator Huang Kuo-chang, visited the headquarters of Taiwan's People Party (TPP) on Monday (July 3). Together, they invited TPP chairman Ko Wen-je, urging him to join a rally in front of the Presidential Office on July 16 under the theme of "saving Taiwan."

Upon entering the room, Ko pleasantly received the invitation letter, posing for a photo with Chen and Huang. Ko emphasized his unwavering support for social justice and judicial reform advocacy. He highlighted two major concerns facing young people in Taiwan: the difficulty of securing well-paying jobs and the soaring housing prices that surpass the reach of average salaries.

Ko highlighted some progress achieved during his tenures as Taipei's mayor, such as implementing social housing and rental subsidies. He hoped these initiatives could be expanded to other cities and counties.

Regarding judicial reform, Ko expressed his support for the cause, acknowledging its significance as an issue beyond municipal governance's confines. According to statistics, public confidence in judicial personnel, particularly prosecutors and judges, remains low.

Chen elaborated on the rally's focus, emphasizing the importance of "living justice" and "judicial reform" to encourage Taiwanese citizens to stand up for their rights.

Huang, currently serving as the deputy of the Taiwan Anti-Corruption and Whistleblower Protection Association (TAWPA), thanked Ko for endorsing the cause. Huang emphasized that he and Chen had already extended an invitation to Tsai Ing-wen on June 26 in front of the Presidential Palace and are in the process of inviting other political parties. Huang highlighted TPP as the first party to respond to their call.

Ko urged TPP members not to attend the rally under the party's banner but rather participate as individuals to ensure that the focus remains on the cause without any distractions. All three stressed that housing justice and judicial reform are universal values that transcend political affiliations, urging everyone who cares about the issues to join them on July 16.
