NEW TAIPEI (TVBS News) — New Taipei Hou Yu-ih unveiled on Wednesday (June 28) the first five campaign team leaders, including former National Security Council Secretary-General King Pu-tsung, who will serve as the campaign manager.
King will be responsible for steering the direction of the election campaign and leading the team through crucial stages of the process. The KMT presidential hopeful emphasized that King, who has been absent from the political scene for some time, has willingly stepped forward to assist him at his request.
"Together, we will strive to reclaim the Republic of China and ensure the safety of Taiwan. Through our collective efforts, we aim to establish a peaceful, stable, and prosperous life for our fellow citizens," Hou said during a press conference.
Former Vice Premier Woody Duh will assume the role of convener of the national advisory group, while former legislator Lin Hung-chih and former Tainan City Councilor Hsieh Lung-chieh will serve as the two vice conveners. Also, KMT caucus convener Tseng Ming-chung will be responsible for local organizational matters.
"Our objective is to regain the trust of the people and govern the country once again. Our utmost priority is to safeguard the nation and promote stability in cross-strait relations and society. By doing so, we can foster unity between the government and its people, which is our greatest strength," Hou added during the press conference.
Hou announced that additional members would join the team soon.
