TAIPEI (TVBS) — NBA star Dwight Howard expressed confidence in Taiwan's basketball scene and shared his top player picks in an exclusive interview with TVBS on Friday (May 19).
Howard praised Taiwan's basketball talent and said Taiwan's basketball scene is "on the right track.," garnishing more attention from fans and has become a hot topic in the United States and many places worldwide.
"I think in the future, there's going to be more players, there's going be more competition. And it's just going to be great," he said.
When asked who his favorite basketball player in Taiwan is, "outside of the guys on [his] team," Howard picked Mohammad Al Bachir Gadiaga from the New Taipei CTBC DEA and Kevin Hu from the Kaohsiung Aquas.
Howard named Al Bachir his "tops" among the T1 League players that don't play for the Taoyuan Leopards. "The way he plays, it's so great to see," Howard remarked. "He's really good. He's really talented."
Howard also commented on Hu's basketball techniques and recalled the first time he saw Hu play. "I was very surprised when I first saw him play. I was like, man, this guy, number 10, what's his name?"
