TAIPEI (TVBS News) — With the United States celebrating the Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, TVBS Meeting Room's Wenchi Yu asked the CEO of The Asian American Foundation (TAAF), Norman Chen, about this historical moment of Asian American representation.

According to Chen, Asian Americans are "bubbling up in the mainstream American media." Jeremy Lin, hugely popular in Taiwan and the United States, won an Emmy with the documentary "38 at The Garden."

The success of "Everything Everywhere All at Once" and Michelle Yeoh being the first ever recognized Asian American to receive the best actor award also highlights the triumph of Asian communities after three years of anti-Asian hate in the U.S. "This is really a historic moment," remarked Chen.

In the future, Chen expressed hope to see more representation in the media and businesses, contributing to more safety and appreciation for AAPI communities.
