TAINAN (TVBS News) — People First Party Chairman Ko Wen-je on Wednesday (May 24) addressed questions about his relationship with Miaoli County Magistrate Chung Tung-chin, who has alleged ties to the underworld.

Ko emphasized his commitment to improving Taiwan, stating that he is willing to provide advice on municipal governance to Chung, regardless of his past.

Miaoli County Magistrate Chung Tung-chin expressed gratitude towards Ko Wen-je for extending friendship in the past, despite supporting the Kuomintang's presidential candidate. Chung even offered to raise campaign funds for Ko Wen-je.

The former Taipei Mayor highlighted his achievements by highlighting his success in digitizing bureaucracy. He proudly mentioned that 99.7% of Taipei City Government documents were in electronic form upon leaving office.

Ko urged other cities and counties to follow suit in embracing digitalization.
