TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) made headlines on Dec. 1 (Fri.) for its generosity toward its employees as annual bonus amounts come to light.
A junior employee at the company recently unveiled that he received bonuses equivalent to 3.8 months-pay after joining the company 8 months ago.
As the bonuses will be multiplied by the duration of time they have worked for the company, the employee is set to receive an additional 30.4 months pay on top of his annual salary.
TSMC has had a successful year so far with rising revenues, and plans for a new fab set to be established in Arizona, U.S.
Its shareholders also rose following a recent investment from Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway, which boosted the company's share price.
However, when questioned by local media about the correlation between the recent investment and the company's generous bonus, TSMC Chairman Mark Liu merely smiled, declining a definite answer.
