TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Most people in Taiwan have had the experience of waiting for or running after garbage trucks after a long day of work. To make things easier, a Taiwanese startup has launched a new app allowing you to ask couriers to pick up domestic waste with just one click.

Although a trash-collecting service within the community is far from new, this new app provides a more comprehensive and flexible way to dispose of garbage for both users and couriers. The app lets you choose whether to hand off the garbage in person or leave it at another location for the collector to pick up.

With Taiwanese people generating 428.5 kilograms of waste per person each year, the app's creator devised this innovative way to help the community dispose of their garbage easily and conveniently. And the young entrepreneur has a clear target customer in mind.

"The first is office workers," app creator Ken Ho told TVBS News. "They may want to squeeze out some time for relaxation after work." Families with young children or elderly parents may also seek out this service as it ensures their loved ones won't need to bear the weather outside to take out their garbage, Ho added.

With no shortage of customers (and trash) on the horizon, the 23-year-old founder is also working with environmentally-friendly businesses to recycle and reduce waste and beyond, demonstrating that the sharing economy offers endless new possibilities.
