TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Weather Administration (CWA) reported that brief showers or thunderstorms occurred across various regions on Monday (May 13) morning due to a frontal system. However, rainfall is expected to ease in the afternoon.

Weather expert Daniel Wu (吳德榮) analyzed that, influenced by "radiative cooling," the lowest temperatures in the plains of northern Taiwan could drop to around 15 degrees Celsius over the next three days.

The CWA also noted that daytime temperatures across the island have decreased compared to the previous day, with northern Taiwan, Yilan, and Hualien experiencing highs of 24 to 25 degrees Celsius. Other regions saw temperatures ranging from 27 to 30 degrees Celsius. Taipei witnessed a significant temperature drop, with the highest temperature plunging nearly 10 degrees from 33.6 degrees Celsius the day before to 24 degrees Celsius.

Wu predicts that the frontal system will move southward between the Bashi Channel and Luzon Island from Tuesday to the following Sunday, bringing clear and stable weather conditions. According to the latest simulations from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), a "tropical disturbance" may be brewing over the eastern seas of the Philippines in the next one to ten days. Still, its development is expected to be slow.
