TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The third day of the Smart City Summit and Expo (SCSE) in Taiwan saw discussions focusing on the event's significance and the crucial role of global industry associations in fostering innovation.
Lam Nguyen Hai Long, chairman of the Ho Chi Minh Computer Association (HCA), praised SCSE for its unique combination of "smart city" themes and "ESG" trends, highlighting Taiwan's leading role in integrating these concepts. "ESG is a new trend; you guys have combined these elements, enabling people to envision the future," Long commended.
Matt Owen, executive director of the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF), underscored the importance of such gatherings in creating opportunities for innovators to forge partnerships and enhance international collaboration, thereby boosting the visibility of each participating company and country.
"The real value lies in meeting people, exchanging handshakes, having discussions, and sharing ideas. It's just the beginning; relationships formed here can grow beyond this event," Owen noted.
Echoing Owen, Dr. Non Arkaraprasertkul, a senior expert in smart city promotion at the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) from Thailand, emphasized the transformative power of collaboration.
"When we work together, we achieve much more. That's the essence of human potential," Arkaraprasertkul stated. He also highlighted the critical role of technological advances in driving economic growth and improving citizens' lives.
Citing Thailand as an example, where 65% of the population works in the primary economy, such as farming, Arkaraprasertkul illustrated how digitalization and internet access could significantly enhance their livelihoods.
The discussions underscored SCSE's role as a catalyst for adopting transformative technologies, steering the world towards a smarter future, as shared by the three representatives.
