TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Tourism Administration and the Central Weather Administration (CWA) signed a memorandum of understanding on Monday (Dec. 18) to integrate tourism and meteorological services, improving the traveler experience in Taiwan.
The partnership will primarily focus on Taiwan's tourism activities, specifically the 13 national scenic area administrations under its jurisdiction. The collaboration aims to create strategic promotions that enhance the traveler experience by combining the expertise of both agencies.
Tourism Administration Director-General Chou Yung-hui highlighted the upcoming tourism smart cloud, which will incorporate real-time weather data to provide tourists with accurate weather conditions tailored for their trips.
CWA Director-General Cheng Jia-ping emphasized delivering targeted meteorological information for different regions, which will be integrated into the tourism-focused smart cloud platform for both local and international travelers.
This initiative aims to boost the tourism industry by facilitating the effective exchange of weather and maritime information. In the age of artificial intelligence, expanded cooperation through smart cloud technology can equip travelers with valuable information, enhancing convenience and safety, particularly for maritime recreational activities.
