TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Tigerair Taiwan reported stellar third-quarter results Friday (Nov. 3), with revenues of nearly NT$3,6 billion, a whopping year-on-year increase of 2,378% and a 23.87% increase from the previous quarter.

The airline's Q3 performance is credited to the summer vacation peak and a steady recovery in passenger movement following the pandemic.

Tigerair Taiwan Chairman Chen Han-ming announced that by year's end, Tigerair Taiwan would directly fly to 20 different destinations in Japan, each without competition. Amid continued route expansion, Chen predicted an even more robust business performance for the coming year.

Chen explained that Tigerair Taiwan's main goal will be to "Welcome Japanese visitors to Taiwan" for next year, with discussions already underway with some Japanese regional governments.

Meanwhile, Tigerair Taiwan made waves over the weekend at the 2023 ITF Taipei International Travel Fair, with high engagement and brisk sales.

Tigerair Taiwan has seen significant public support for the airline's Japanese routes. Many attendees at the fair presented proofs of purchased travel, hoping to exchange these for a limited-edition souvenir.

Tigerair Taiwan's success at the event and its solid third-quarter results underscore a forward momentum that Chairman Chen expects only to accelerate in the coming months.
