TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Shanghai's Fudan University students displayed little interest in the news of former Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou's impending visit to the school on April 7.
During an unexpected interview with a TVBS reporter, two students acknowledged they were unaware of the visit and the topic had barely been discussed at school.
Another student expressed curiosity about Ma's objectives for the trip if allowed to meet with him.
Ma's 12-day excursion to China is set to commence on March 27 and conclude on April 7, during which the former leader will participate in a symposium at Fudan University.
This visit will mark the first time a former Taiwanese president has traveled to China since the conclusion of the Chinese Civil War in 1949.
