TAIPEI (TVBS NEWS) — Ukrainian model, Lina Zhytielieva, has shared the reasons for her move to Taiwan four years ago and her desire to settle down in the country with TVBS.
Zhytielieva, now 19 years old, revealed that she came to Taiwan at her mother's behest, who wanted her to have a better life. "I came to Taiwan because of my mom. My mom told me Taiwan is such a good country," she said.
The young model also cited the safety of Taiwan as a reason why she hopes to make the country her permanent home. "I hope that I can have a family here when I meet someone, a partner. It's where I feel safe. Taiwan makes me [feel] really, really safe," Lina explained.
Lina has been separated from her family for the past four years due to the Russia-Ukraine war. Fortunately, they have since relocated to Germany. "During the war, [there] were days when I couldn't contact them because of no signal or something," she shared.
Looking ahead, Lina hopes to bring her family to Taiwan once her work becomes more stable. Her story highlights the complexities and sacrifices often involved in pursuing one's dreams of a better life.
