TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Kyoto's Tachibana Senior High School marching band became the first overseas musical group to perform at Taiwan's National Day celebration on Monday (Oct. 10).
The performers dressed in bright orange costumes kicked left and right while moving forward in synch with the music. Every step measured 62.5 centimeters, and some had to carry musical instruments weighing up to 10 kilograms while performing.
The marching band, coined the "orange devils" is considered one of the best school marching bands in Japan and received the cute nickname because of their energetic performances and bright uniforms.
Meanwhile, Taipei First Girls High School also gave a stellar performance today, as the prestigious marching band performed to the beat of the Beatles' "Hey Jude" and Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger."
The selection of songs represents Taiwan's hope to stand strong in the face of adversity while also promoting a message of love and peace.
Taiwan's joint military marching band also showcased new skills, and part of the performance was also given in silence to show the band's synchronization skills, with only the sound of their feet and catch as guidance.
