Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC, 台積電) hit an intraday high of NT$1,785 (around US$56.85) but closed down NT$15 at NT$1,755 (around US$55.89), a decline of 0.85%.
The weighted index opened at 32,002.56 points, peaked at 32,196.75, and hit a low of 31,989.86. Formosa Plastics (台塑), Formosa Chemicals & Fibre (台化), and Formosa Petrochemical (台塑化) all hit their daily limit**, showing** strong performance. Nan Ya Plastics (南亞) closed at NT$81.7 (around US$2.60), up 5.97%. MediaTek (聯發科) reached its daily limit at NT$1,790 (around US$57.01) in early trading, closing at NT$1,770 (around US$56.37), up NT$140 (around US$4.46), or 8.59%.
The top five stocks by trading volume included Innolux (群創), Powerchip (力積電), UMC (聯電), Macronix (旺宏), and Nan Ya Plastics, reflecting broad market activity across sectors. AzureWave (海華), Team Group (十銓), Zig Sheng Industrial (集盛), Lealea (力鵬), and AmTRAN (瑞軒) led the gainers. Ta Tun Electric (大東電), Chinachem (華懋), Eternal Precision Mechanics (長廣), Syscom (凌群), and Hanns Touch (精金) were among the top decliners.
Foxconn (鴻海) rose NT$2.5 (around US$0.08) to close at NT$224 (around US$7.13), a gain of 1.13%, while Delta Electronics (台達電) fell NT$30 (around US$0.96) to NT$1,230 (around US$39.17), down 2.38%. Nanya Technology (南亞科) reached NT$295 (around US$9.39) intraday, closing at NT$286 (around US$9.11), up 5.34%.
