TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Tourism Administration (交通部觀光署) unveiled on Friday (Dec. 19) 44 distinctive New Year's Eve events across Taiwan, inviting the public to welcome 2026 in style. These celebrations span the north, central, south, east, and outlying islands, featuring national scenic areas, theme parks, and local government venues.
Taipei's New Year's Eve party, often ranked among the world's top ten by international media, promises a diverse musical experience. The event will cover multiple locations like 44 South Military Village (四四南村) and Xiangshan Park (象山公園), offering a rich tapestry of music styles around the main stage. In central Taiwan, the 2026 Sun Moon Lake (日月潭) New Year's Eve party will light up at Shuishe Pier (水社碼頭) on Dec. 31, with fireworks displays at Shuishe and Ita Thao (伊達邵). Visitors can also greet the dawn from Jin long Mountain (金龍山), standing 820 meters above sea level.
Southern Taiwan's event invites attendees to gaze over the Chiayi–Tainan Plain (嘉南平原) and the Taiwan Strait, and join the concert at Alishan Sunrise (阿里山) to usher in the New Year. Meanwhile, Hualien's Farglory Ocean Park (遠雄海洋公園) hosts an overnight adventure. As for the outlying Islands, Matsu's (馬祖) year-end celebration invites celebrities and internet singers to join the festivities. Revelers can witness the first light atop Bi Mountain (壁山) and pass by military facilities, such as the ROC Army Matsu Defense Command (馬防部)'s camp and Juguang Fort (莒光堡).
