TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taichung's Fire Bureau (消防局), the city's emergency response agency, unveiled its 2026 firefighter-themed calendar Tuesday (Dec. 2) during an event that drew large crowds. The bureau will distribute the calendar for free to the public. Residents unable to attend the event can obtain copies by participating in blood donation drives or donating receipts for charity.
The calendar features Taichung City locations including Aofengshan Park (鰲峰山公園), Lishui Fishing Port (麗水漁港), the National Taiwan Museum of Comics (國家漫畫博物館) and Liuchuan Riverside Trail (柳川景觀步道). The newly completed Shigang District (石岡) Fire Brigade served as one shooting site. The calendar showcases the city's landmarks alongside its firefighters.
February's calendar model, Lin Chih-yu (林志宇), obtained his fire equipment technician certification at age 21, representing the younger generation of firefighting professionals in Taichung. April's model, Su Chun-ju (蘇君茹), lost 13 kilograms in six months through dedicated physical training. The featured firefighters represent diverse backgrounds and specializations within Taichung's Fire Bureau, showcasing both male and female emergency responders.
June's featured firefighter, Lai Chun-hsien (賴俊憲), brings experience in communication and crisis management. Yen Yun-fang (鄢筠芳), October's model, joined as a volunteer firefighter at age 18. The calendar profiles 12 firefighters throughout the year, each representing different specializations and career paths within emergency services. ◼
