TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei police found no unusual activity following bomb threats against multiple schools and universities, Police Chief Li Hsi-he (李西河) told city council Thursday (Nov. 20). The threats, posted on Discord Wednesday (Nov. 19), triggered an immediate security response from the Taipei City Police Department (台北市警察局).
Criminal Investigation Division (刑事警察大隊) head Lu Chun-hung (盧俊宏) confirmed officers alerted all local precincts and heightened security at educational institutions. Lu emphasized that investigations verified no unusual activities at any of the threatened locations.
The investigation faces challenges as the threats originated from an overseas platform, according to Lu. Police warned that all public safety threats will be prosecuted and urged residents to report suspicious content to 110 rather than spreading unverified information. ◼
