TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Kaohsiung MRT has launched bilingual (English and Chinese) train announcements on Thursday (Nov. 20). The bilingual announcements will celebrate weekend performances by TWICE, the popular South Korean girl group, at Kaohsiung's National Stadium (世運主場館).
According to a press release, the Kaohsiung Metro anticipates a large influx of fans from both domestic and international locations for TWICE's first concert in Taiwan. To manage the expected crowd, the corporation has activated a transportation contingency plan, mobilizing over 100 personnel and scheduling additional train services.
Guided by the Kaohsiung Bureau of Cultural Affairs (文化局), the MRT has crafted an upgraded blue theme to match the official color of Taiwanese TWICE member Tzuyu. Seven major landmarks, including Central Park Station (中央公園站) and Formosa Boulevard Station (美麗島捷運站), will be illuminated with blue lights from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. to feature a "TWICE THIS IS FOR WORLD TOUR" light show.
The MRT noted that some stations feature fan-funded idol support billboards, adding more blue to the atmosphere. During the concert, the MRT will implement crowd control and traffic management measures, closing some skywalks and sidewalks after the event. Travelers must follow instructions to enter stations.
