TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's badminton men's doubles team Chiu Hsiang-chieh (邱相榤) and Wang Chi-lin (王齊麟), made a stunning comeback at the BWF Super 500 Kumamoto Masters on Thursday (Nov. 13). This victory marks their seventh consecutive win, continuing their impressive form since clinching their second title of the season at the Hylo Open.
Lee and Wang defeated their opponents 14-21, 21-13, 21-19 to advance to the quarterfinals. They overcame fellow Taiwanese duo Chen Cheng-kuan (陳政寬) and Lin Bing-wei (林秉偉) in the first round of the Kumamoto Masters. Despite losing the first game in their round of 16 match, they rallied to secure the next two games and achieve a remarkable turnaround, earning a spot in the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile,in the men's singles, Taiwan's top player, Chou Tien-chen (周天成), faced a setback. He lost to Thailand's Panitchaphon Teeraratsakul with scores of 19-21, 16-21. In this season, Chou has secured runner-up finishes at the Taipei Open and Indonesia Open, and won the Arctic Open in October. He has already qualified for the year-end finals in December.
