TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's APEC envoy Lin Hsin-i (林信義) arrived in Busan, South Korea, Tuesday (Oct. 28) for the upcoming leaders' summit. The Taiwania Capital (台杉投資管理顧問公司) chairman will represent Taiwan at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Gyeongju. Lin, accompanied by his daughter, traveled on a special flight to attend the international gathering.

South Korean officials warmly welcomed Lin at Gimhae Airport (金海機場), including APEC Senior Official Yoon Seong-mi (尹盛渼). Deputy Governor Kim Hak-hong (金學泓) and Korea Airports Corporation Executive Vice President Lee Jeong-kee (李正基) joined the reception. Local Taiwanese community members also greeted Lin at his hotel, expressing hopes for increased bilateral exchanges.

Lin declined to comment on potential bilateral meetings with the U.S. and Japan, only waving to media. President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) appointed Lin for his third term as Taiwan's APEC representative. U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jin-ping are expected to meet, with Taiwan potentially discussed. ◼
