TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The "2025 Color Taipei" event, organized by the Department of Information and Tourism (觀光傳播局), Taipei City Government, will culminate on Saturday (Oct. 25) at Taipei City Hall Square (臺北市政府前廣場) with Taiwan's Gay Pride Parade. This vibrant celebration is expected to attract over 100,000 domestic and international visitors, underscoring Taipei's commitment to diversity and inclusivity.
Since early October, the "2025 Color Taipei" initiative has gained momentum, with rainbow-themed tourist buses drawing attention. Influential LGBTQ+ social media figures, such as Lilo May from Hong Kong and Ario Huang from Thailand, have recommended the event online. In collaboration with the Taipei International Drag Fest (國際變裝藝術節), the Department of Information and Tourism will host drag performances at The Red House (西門紅樓) on Saturday (Oct. 25), offering discounts at LGBTQ-friendly businesses to showcase Taipei's welcoming atmosphere.
Simultaneously, the 2025 Digital Art Festival Taipei (臺北數位藝術節) will run from Saturday (Oct. 25) to Nov. 9 at Dadaocheng Wharf (大稻埕碼頭) and King Car Cultural & Art Center Chengde Branch(金車文藝中心承德館). This year's theme, "Horizons in layers" (層疊的海平線), features works by artists such as Wang Lien-cheng (王連晟) and Tsai I-ting (蔡宜婷), who explore boundaries through technology. Heavy rain delayed the opening of the Dadaocheng Wharf exhibition area until Oct. 28.
Also, the 2025 Taipei Fashion Week (臺北時裝週) will present a cross-disciplinary fashion show themed "Fashion Romantasy" at Taipei Music Center (臺北流行音樂中心) on Fri. (Oct. 24). The event, which began Oct. 17 at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park (松菸文創園區), features six Taiwanese designers emphasizing creative and sustainable fashion.
