TAIPEI (TVBS News) — South Korean star Ok Taec-yeon (玉澤演) announced plans to possibly stay in Taiwan for an extended period to film a new project during Thursday's (Oct. 16) reopening of an Italian fashion brand Loro Piana at Taipei 101, Taiwan's iconic skyscraper. The event drew significant attention as he engaged warmly with fans, greeting them in Mandarin.
Ok shared his frequent visits to Taiwan post-pandemic, often attending fan meetings and fashion events while jogging near Taipei City Hall during stays. His company tasked him with shooting a vlog this time, allowing him to experience local culture and cuisine. Ok highlighted his tradition of visiting Raohe Night Market (饒河夜市), Taiwan's famous traditional market, where he tasted stinky tofu for the first time after arriving Wednesday.
Recently starring alongside Seohyun (徐玄) of Girls' Generation in Korean drama "The First Night with the Duke" (我奪走公爵的初夜), Ok expressed enthusiasm about preparing for his next project, which may extend his Taiwan stay. His connection with Taiwan deepens, following his fan meeting with So Ji-sub (蘇志燮) in May and panel discussion with Greg Hsu (許光漢) at Busan International Film Festival in September. ◼
