TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Weather Administration (CWA, 中央氣象署) has warned of high temperatures in Taiwan on Monday (Oct. 13) despite forecasts that Taiwan will experience stable weather this week. Meteorologists predict a significant temperature drop when the northeast monsoon arrives on Sunday (Oct. 19), with potential lows requiring further observation.

WeatherRisk (天氣風險) forecasts high temperatures of 32-35 degrees Celsius this week, with some areas in Greater Taipei and the western regions reaching 36 degrees or more. Meteorologist Lin De-en (林得恩) highlighted on his Facebook that the upcoming temperature drop, expected around Oct. 20, marks the first significant cooling of the autumn.

As the northeast monsoon strengthens next weekend, regions facing the wind, such as northern Taiwan, the east coast, and the Hengchun Peninsula (恆春半島), will see a shift to cloudy and rainy weather. The cooling will be most noticeable in northern Taiwan, while central and southern regions may also feel the onset of autumn.

Also, Lin mentioned the potential formation of a tropical disturbance east of the Philippines in late October, which requires ongoing monitoring. The southern sea's tropical disturbances could become active next week, necessitating close observation for any impact on Taiwan.
