The mayor expressed deep gratitude to all the young players for bringing international glory to Taiwan through their remarkable achievement. The team had returned home Friday (Aug. 30) to widespread celebration.
Mayor Chiang paid special tribute to head coach Lai Min-nan (賴敏男), acknowledging the coaching staff's unwavering dedication in guiding the young athletes through months of rigorous training and challenging international competitions. Chiang announced a significant investment of NT$4.98 million (around US$162,000) in a comprehensive "training incentive package" to further support youth baseball development. The city's Education Bureau (教育局), Taiwan's municipal education authority, will provide additional bonuses and training resources to both players and coaches, ensuring continued growth and success.
