TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Thousands of spectators gathered Sunday (Aug. 10) as brilliant pink and magenta fireworks illuminated the night sky above Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf (漁人碼頭), marking the opening of a spectacular summer festival. The 10-minute pyrotechnic display featured massive 12-inch aerial shells that created breathtaking bursts of color over the waterfront. Festival organizers complemented the fireworks with fashion shows and energetic dance performances, transforming the popular northern Taiwan destination into a vibrant entertainment hub.
Popular cheerleader Mizuki Lin (林襄) attended the festivities, praising the beautiful scenery and comfortable sea breeze at the waterfront location. Eager spectators began arriving at 4 p.m. to claim the best viewing spots for the evening's spectacular show. Event organizers received praise for their thoughtful layout, with attendees noting that even those arriving after 7 p.m. could still find excellent positions to enjoy the fireworks display.
Celebrated fashion designer Gioia Pan (潘怡良) and her creative team officially launched the North Coast Fashion Art Festival (北海岸時尚藝術季) with an elaborate runway show that artfully combined fireworks imagery with local fishing culture themes. The multi-weekend celebration will continue with additional themed fireworks displays scheduled for Saturday (Aug. 17) and Saturday (Aug. 24). Organizers promise each event will deliver distinctive summer evening entertainment, featuring spectacular high-altitude pyrotechnics synchronized with carefully curated musical performances. ◼
