TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Flames engulfed the renowned KAI SUH SUH Enterprise Co., Ltd. (凱士士) wiring equipment factory in Tainan's Qigu District (七股區) early Thursday (July 10). The fire, which erupted around 3 a.m., consumed the entire facility, covering an area of approximately 4,500 square meters. Fortunately, no injuries or entrapments occurred, according to local authorities.
Firefighters arrived promptly at the scene and battled the blaze for three hours. The Tainan City Government Fire Bureau (臺南市消防局) deployed advanced technology, including robots from Southern Taiwan Science Park (南部科學園區) and Nanmen, and four drones to assist in the operation.The department later sent five more water tankers to support logistics, ensuring a continuous supply for firefighting efforts.
KSS's Plant No. 5, primarily producing plastic straps, had no chemical substances in operation at the time. The fire department arranged for four excavators from Yongkang (永康) District to aid in the rescue efforts.
