TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE, 證交所) on Monday (June 2) revealed that JSL Group (愛山林), a real estate marketing company, led the pack in average employee salary expenses for 2024, surpassing major tech firms. Despite a 13.5% year-on-year decrease, JSL Group's average salary expense per employee reached NT$4.782 million, outpacing companies like Realtek Semiconductor (瑞昱) and MediaTek (聯發科).
The exchange's data showed that seven domestic listed companies exceeded NT$4 million in average employee salary expenses last year. These companies include JSL Group, Realtek Semiconductor with NT$4.751 million, MediaTek with NT$4.633 million, ASE Technology Holding (日月光投控) with NT$4.487 million, Namchow Holdings (南僑) with NT$4.124 million, ASMedia Technology (祥碩) with NT$4.098 million, and GTM Holdings (勤益控) with NT$4.009 million.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC, 台積電) saw a 21.6% increase in its average employee salary expense, reaching NT$3.329 million and ranking 14th.
TWSE plans to release comprehensive 2024 salary information for full-time employees not holding managerial positions on June 30, including employee numbers, total salary, average salary, and median salary. The exchange expressed its expectation that listed companies should fulfill their corporate social responsibility by enhancing salary benefits for grassroots employees during operational growth, promoting a win-win situation for labor and management.
