TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Korean cheerleader Nam Minjeong (南珉貞) fought back tears Monday (March 24) as she reflected on her extensive career in South Korea while embracing a fresh start with Taiwan's Fubon Angels (富邦悍將啦啦隊). The veteran performer, who had contemplated retirement before receiving an unexpected opportunity across the Taiwan Strait, offered a glimpse into the emotional journey of international performers seeking new horizons in Taiwan's vibrant sports entertainment industry.

The Fubon Angels launched their new season with a spirited press conference that showcased both returning talent and exciting additions to their performance roster. The highly anticipated event featured the official introduction of the "Korean Trio" — Lee Ju-eun (李珠珢), Lee Ayoung (李雅英), and Nam Minjeong — whose international credentials have generated considerable buzz among Taiwanese baseball fans eager to experience their dynamic performances at upcoming games.

"I have been active in South Korea for nearly 10 years, and I am very emotional when I think of the memories," Nam shared with visible sentiment during the event. The veteran performer revealed a pivotal career crossroads she had recently faced: "I was considering retiring before Fubon offered me this opportunity to have a different career in Taiwan." Her candid admission highlighted the unexpected second chapter Taiwan has provided for her professional journey at a time when she had contemplated stepping away from the spotlight altogether.

Fellow Korean performer Lee Ju-eun, who touched down in Taiwan just two weeks prior to the press conference, shared her cultural observations since arriving on the island. The newcomer specifically highlighted the fascinating contrasts she's discovered between convenience store offerings in Taiwan compared to those in her native South Korea, while warmly acknowledging the welcoming atmosphere created by her new teammates.

Not to be outdone, the third member of the Korean contingent, Lee Ayoung, impressed attendees by confidently introducing herself in Mandarin Chinese, demonstrating her commitment to connecting with local fans as she embarks on this international chapter of her performance career.
