TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A Taiwanese Startup CouchSpace shared a mindfulness app to tackle the often-overlooked issue of mental health neglect among Asians at the Smart City Summit and Expo (智慧城市展) on Thursday (March 21).
Callie Chang, marketing project manager at CouchSpace, detailed how the app addresses mental health issues, particularly for Asians who often prioritize work over well-being. The app aims to make it easier for users to find mental comfort and address related challenges.
CouchSpace's mission is to promote mindfulness as a lifestyle. Chang highlighted that the app offers features such as white noise recordings and guided instructions to assist users with sleep and focus issues. She stressed the importance of educating individuals about the often invisible and challenging aspects of mental health.
Though still in development, the app has already attracted 10,000 users. According to Chang, many report feeling more relaxed and inclined to prioritize their mental health after using the app's meditation practices.
Chang also noted that CouchSpace offers online counseling and educational materials, encouraging users to incorporate mindfulness into their daily routines. These features are designed to enhance overall well-being and foster a more mindful lifestyle.
