TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Ukraine-born Taiwanese entertainer Larisa Bakurova (瑞莎) announced on Tuesday (March 4) that young local gymnasts secured four silver medals at the international gymnastics tournament Miss Valentine 2025 competition in Estonia.
Bakurova noted this year's competition was more challenging than the World Cup due to the larger number of participants and countries involved. Despite the challenges, Bakurova expressed her admiration and joy for her trainees from the Rising Star Rhythmic Gymnastics Association (瑞星韻律體操).
This year's competition saw over 500 athletes from 51 countries, adding to the event's difficulty. In a social media post, she thanked supporters and promised continued efforts to join more rhythmic gymnastics events. "I'm sooooo proud of our work," she wrote.
Bakurova has consistently led her team to impressive achievements in recent years. Last year, Taiwanese gymnasts competed in Estonia, the Netherlands, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Germany, South Korea, and Thailand, bringing pride to their nation. She is dedicated to promoting rhythmic gymnastics in Taiwan and hopes to expand the event to central and southern regions.
