HUALIEN (TVBS News)—The Hualien County Government urged residents to use their stimulus vouchers before they expire on Friday (Feb. 28). These vouchers, issued to revitalize the economy after the April 3 Hualien earthquake last year, have seen about 93% redemption, though approximately NT$65 million remains in circulation.
The Hualien County Tourism Department (花蓮縣觀光處) noted the vouchers' initial allocation totaled about NT$930 million, with over NT$860 million redeemed so far. Nearly 700 local businesses still accept these vouchers, providing ample opportunity for residents to utilize them before the deadline.
The county government allocated NT$1 billion last year, distributing more than 310,000 voucher sets in mid-October, granting each resident NT$3,000.
Residents must redeem the vouchers by the end of February, while businesses have until the end of March to exchange them for cash at designated financial institutions. The department encouraged residents to take advantage of the remaining time to support local businesses and contribute to the ongoing economic recovery.
