TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The e-commerce travel platform KKday confirmed on Wednesday (Feb. 26) that it has laid off 38 domestic and international employees as part of an organizational restructuring. This reduction represents 3.7% of the company's total workforce.

The announcement followed online reports from employees who claimed the layoffs occurred without prior warning.

In response to the layoffs, KKday stated it would provide statutory severance pay and at least one additional month's compensation. The company also plans to assist affected employees with resume reviews and recommendation letters.

KKday expressed gratitude for the contributions of all employees and announced a new wave of organizational restructuring, focusing on global strategic business development and talent integration.

KKday added that it aims to return to its pre-pandemic operational goals, centering its efforts at its Taiwan headquarters while closely collaborating with offices across the Asia-Pacific region. This strategy seeks to maximize cross-market integration and efficiency. The company extended its best wishes to all departing employees for their future career paths and pledged ongoing efforts with all staff for long-term growth.

Addressing concerns about potential future layoffs, KKday assured that no further layoffs are planned.
