TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan Centers for Disease Control (CDC, 疾管署) announced Wednesday (Feb. 12) that they have completed the procurement of 105,000 Flucelvax influenza vaccine doses, which is expected to be administered on Feb. 20.
The CDC revealed that TTY Biopharm Company Limited (台灣東洋藥品股份有限公司) won the bid with a contract worth NT$12.705 million. The vaccines, suitable for children over six months, teenagers, and adults, aim to bolster public health efforts.
TTY Biopharm Company Limited plans to conduct inspections for the 100,000 additional public-funded vaccine doses on Friday, with the intention of starting vaccinations next Thursday. The CDC will distribute the vaccines to local health bureaus next Monday (Feb. 17), which will allocate them to vaccination sites.
The CDC said they will provide the vaccines to 11 groups, including seniors over 65, Indigenous people over 55, and residents of care facilities.
Residents can check nearby contracted facilities and make appointments through health bureau websites, the CDC's influenza prevention network, the CDC app, or the 1922 consultation hotline.
Officials encourage eligible individuals to take advantage of the free vaccinations and stay informed through official channels.
