NEW TAIPEI (TVBS News) — New Taipei's Labor Affairs Department (新北市勞工局) held a bustling job fair Tuesday (Feb. 11), where officials noted a vigorous demand for workers in the hospitality and catering sectors, followed by the tech manufacturing industry.
The event, held in the 6th-floor auditorium of city hall, attracted considerable attention from employers and job seekers.
New Taipei Mayor Hou Yu-ih (侯友宜) attended the fair and distributed lucky bags to wish job seekers success in their employment pursuits.
The department reported that 53 companies, including Zoller (卓勒), KINIK (中國砂輪), and IKEA, participated, offering over 2,500 job opportunities. The hospitality and catering industry, with companies like Sushiro (壽司郎) and Din Tai Fung (鼎泰豐), provided more than 100 positions.
The Department Director Chen Jui-chia (陳瑞嘉) announced plans to host nearly 100 job fairs across New Taipei by year-end. He encouraged those unable to attend to visit employment service stations for assistance.
