TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an (蔣萬安) announced plans on Tuesday (Feb. 11) to coordinate with the central government for public-funded flu vaccines.
He made this announcement while attending the opening ceremony at Taipei Municipal Mingchuan Elementary School (銘傳國小) as the new semester begins, where he welcomed students and distributed gifts.
With about 80% of students wearing masks due to the flu outbreak, Chiang urged the school to enhance health education, cleaning, disinfection, and epidemic reporting.
Reporters raised concerns about the safety of campus pick-up zones and the lack of indoor sports facilities. Chiang responded by stating plans to budget for the construction of sports courts and asked relevant departments to ensure the safety of pick-up areas.
