TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Weather Administration (CWA, 中央氣象署) forecasts a cloudy to clear day across Taiwan on Tuesday (Feb. 11), with localized showers expected in the south by evening.
The Keelung North Coast, eastern regions, and Hengchun Peninsula may experience scattered showers, while cloud cover will increase nationwide later in the day.
In western and northeastern Taiwan, morning temperatures will range from 11 to 14 degrees Celsius, with Hualien and Taitung at approximately 15 to 16°C. Some areas from Taoyuan to Kaohsiung and Hualien may dip below 10°C. As southeast winds prevail during the day, temperatures rise, reaching 21 to 24°C, with some southern regions hitting 25 to 26°C.
The administration advises residents to be mindful of significant day-night temperature differences in western areas and adjust clothing accordingly. Penghu will see temperatures between 14 and 18°C, Kinmen 11 to 19°C, and Matsu 9 to 15°C, where warmth is essential.
Strong gusts are likely in the Hengchun Peninsula, prompting caution. The administration also warns of cold mornings and evenings, urging proper ventilation when using gas heaters to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning. Special attention should be given to older people, children, and those with chronic cardiovascular conditions to ensure adequate warmth.
