TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Chinese businessman Wang Xiaofei (汪小菲) drove a luxury sports car to the underground parking lot of his late ex-wife Barbie Hsu's (大S, 徐熙媛) residence in Taipei's Xinyi District on Wednesday (Feb. 5).
Earlier that day, Barbie Hsu's husband, DJ Koo (具俊曄), had escorted her ashes from Tokyo to Taiwan on a private jet. Her ashes, initially rumored to be placed at Lungyen Hall (龍巖會館) in Taipei City, will instead rest in a tower at a park in New Taipei's Sanzhi District (三芝), as revealed by her sister Dee Hsu (小S).
Barbie Hsu's family will not hold a farewell ceremony, honoring her preference for privacy. Instead, they have set up a mourning hall at Minquan Hall (民權會館), encouraging everyone to cherish her memory privately. Dee expressed gratitude to the media for their patience, noting that "she (Barbie) has returned home safely."
Wang, who flew from Thailand upon hearing the news of Barbie Hsu's death, appeared visibly distressed at the airport. He pleaded with the media to speak kindly of his former wife. Despite a previous debt leading to the auctioning of his Aston Martin, which he used to drive to Hsu's house, he managed to reclaim it before the second auction.
The shocking news of the death of Barbie Hsu, who succumbed to flu-related pneumonia complications in a Tokyo hospital at 48 has reverberated across Taiwan. She rose to fame in 1994 with her sister as part of the duo S.O.S. Her role in the 2001 hit drama "Meteor Garden" (流星花園) catapulted her to stardom across Asia.
