TAIPEI (TVBS News) — South Korean actor Hyun Bin (玄彬) returned to Taiwan on Wednesday (Jan. 15) after a 5-year, 9-month hiatus. He plans to stay for three days and two nights, and promote his new film "Harbin" (哈爾濱) during two special screenings at Taipei's Ambassador Theaters (台北國賓鉅院).
Accompanied by director Woo Min-ho (禹民鎬) and producers Kim Won-guk (金元國) and Park Hoon (朴勳), Hyun Bin arrived in a casual black outfit, exuding cheerfulness even behind a mask. As soon as he exited the plane, media surrounded him, and he greeted them warmly.
In "Harbin," Hyun Bin plays a national hero leading an assassination mission against Japan's first Resident-General of Korea, Ito Hirobumi (伊藤博文), in Harbin. This film marks his first project since the birth of his son.
In an interview, Hyun Bin expressed his desire to share this film with his child, saying, "When my child reaches an age to watch and understand movies, I want to tell him, 'When you were born, your father was making a film about such a person from our country.'"
