TAIPEI (TVBS News) — China's Ministry of Commerce (中國商務部) on Tuesday (Jan. 14) evening announced the addition of seven U.S. companies to its unreliable entity list, citing U.S. arms sales to Taiwan as the reason. This move bars the companies from engaging in import and export activities related to China and prohibits new investments within the country.

The listed companies include Inter-Coastal Electronics (岸際電子公司), System Studies & Simulation (系統研究與模擬公司), IronMountain Solutions (鐵山解決方案公司), Applied Technologies Group (應用技術集團), Axient (艾西恩特公司), Anduril Industries (安杜裏爾公司), and Maritime Tactical Systems (海上戰術系統公司). China's Ministry of Commerce stated that senior executives from these firms are banned from entering the country and have had their work permits, stay, or residence qualifications in China revoked.

China's Ministry of Commerce emphasized that these measures aim to "safeguard national sovereignty, security and development interests" (維護國家主權、安全和發展利益) based on laws such as the "Foreign Trade Law" (對外貿易法), "National Security Law" (國家安全法), and "Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law" (反外國制裁法). The announcement also noted that unresolved matters will follow the provisions of China's unreliable entity list regulations, particularly Articles 2, 8, and 10.

This development could further strain U.S.-China relations, highlighting the geopolitical tensions involving Taiwan. Observers will closely watch how these measures impact the affected companies and the broader international business community.
