TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Hon Hai Technology Group (鴻海科技集團) announced Tuesday (Nov. 19) a partnership with NVIDIA to establish next-generation AI factories in Mexico and Taiwan. The collaboration aims to leverage NVIDIA's Omniverse platform to accelerate development.
NVIDIA revealed a day earlier that the Mexico factory will begin mass production in early 2025, while Taiwan's factory will start operations in December that year. At the 2023 Hon Hai Tech Day (HHTD23), Hon Hai first showcased its collaboration with NVIDIA by creating a 3D digital twin of the automated production line at its Hsinchu, Taiwan, facility using the Omniverse platform.
Hon Hai highlighted Omniverse technology, Isaac robotics, AI-driven simulation Modulus, and OpenUSD data standards in constructing the Mexico factory. The company emphasized that digital twin technology is crucial for rapid replication and scaling, enhancing its global footprint.
NVIDIA stated that its Blackwell platform, the core of AI servers, has entered full production. Hon Hai has adopted multiple NVIDIA technologies to develop industrial-grade AI simulation software, expediting the setup of factories in Taiwan and Mexico. Additionally, NVIDIA noted that the Mexico facility could reduce energy usage by over 30% annually, significantly cutting costs.
