TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim (蕭美琴) emphasized the government's commitment to green finance at the Asian Bankers Association (ABA, 亞洲銀行家協會) conference in Taipei on Monday (Nov. 18), aiming to drive industry decarbonization and deepen sustainable development.
She highlighted the conference's theme, "Transitioning Toward a Sustainable Future," focusing on tech-driven banking transformation and sustainable goals. She welcomed bankers from Asia and around the globe and expressed gratitude to Taiwanese bankers for building regional connections and business relationships.
Hsiao stated that the government is integrating financial resources to support the net-zero transition, promoting sustainable economic activity guidelines, and establishing an ESG data platform. Hsiao thanked financial institutions for their collaboration in tackling cross-border fraud, emphasizing the importance of public-private and international cooperation to protect societal assets.
Hsiao hoped the conference would spark innovation and diverse ideas, ensuring shared prosperity for the Asian economy.
